At Highly Entertaining, the balloons we use are made of natural rubber latex. This is a 100% natural substance that comes from the large forest tree Hevea brasisiensis in equatorial forests. The latex is collected from the trees in a benign tapping process much the same way as the maple sap used to make syrup. Harvesting latex from rainforests can be more profitable to poor third world farmers than cutting down forests to raise cattle.
